Hello, I am Yu Liang

I am a currently a postdoctoral researcher in Visualization and Resposible AI at Eindhoven University of Technology and Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS). Coming from a mixed background, I am also experienced in data science, UX research (HCI studies) and web development.

Recent News

  • Dec 14, 2023: Our paper titled " Exploring the longitudinal effects of nudging on users’ music genre exploration behavior and listening preferences" was presented at DBWRS 2023 in Antwerp, Belgium. This work is a part of my PhD work in collaboration with my supervisor Martijn Willemsen
  • Nov 27, 2023: I successfully defended my PhD at the chapel of JADS. It has been a great honor to me. This journey has been one of significant milestones in my life
  • July 1, 2023: I started a new position as a Postdoc researcher focused on Machine learning Visualization and Responsible AI at TU Eindhoven and JADS. This is a part of the TEPAIV project
  • March 28, 2023: I presented the work "Enabling Goal-Focused Exploration of Podcasts in Interactive Recommender Systems" at the 2023 ACM International Conference on Intelligent User Interfaces (ACM IUI) held at Syndey, Australia. This is a collaborative work with my former colleagues at Spotify Research Aditya Ponnada, Paul Lamere and Nediyana Daskalova (the work was carried out during my internship at Spotify in 2022)
  • March 16, 2023: I was awarded with the SIGCHI Gary Marsden Travel Awards 2023 ($2500)
